ITC Data Science Graduate Review

From Web Scraping to Neural Networks in 6 months

My name is Matan Feldman, and I participated in the February 2020 <itc> Data Science Fellowship, graduating in August 2020. I served in the Israeli Air Force for 6 years as an aerospace engineer. During that time I first was introduced to the field of the Data Science, became fascinated about it, and wanted to break into it. As I already graduated a M.Sc in engineering, I’ve realized a bootcamp is the most reasonable choice for me. After a thorough market review, including advising with alumni of different bootcamps, I got a strong impression that <itc> is the best possible option – both professionally and in terms of recruitment. I signed up.

Right from the start, I got to deal with things I never thought would be possible for me – from starting with web scraping to using state-of-the-art Neural Network architectures in our final project. One of the most important things for me in ITC’s program is the combination of general background lectures and lots of self-study and hands-on experience, which made sure I not only learn about algorithms, but also know how to use them in real work.

Hired Right after the Project

As part of the program, Israel Tech Challenge helped me find an hands-on training project with D-ID, and following that successful experience I was offered to join the team full time. I would not be where I am if it wasn’t for the <itc> Data Science Fellowship, and fully recommend it to anyone who is a data-driven person, interested in the world of programming and algorithms, and considers a change in the course of life.
