About the challenge

The ITC Data Science challenge 2018 is a first of its kind prize winning data competition for ‘non-Data Scientists’, meant for M.Sc. graduates and students from top universities who are interested in the exciting field of Data Science. 

The concept is very simple: 50+ data enthusiasts, 1 Machine Learning challenge and 2 hours to develop the best predictive model there is using analysis and coding.

1st Place Winner

$ 1000
  •  Immediate transition to ITC's Data Science course last stage of screening and a 20,000 NIS scholarship upon acceptance

2nd Place Winner

$ 500
  •  Immediate transition to ITC's Data Science course last stage of screening and a 5,000 NIS scholarship upon acceptance

3nd Place Winner

$ 250
  •  Immediate transition to ITC's Data Science course last stage of screening and a 1,000 NIS scholarship upon acceptance

Who can participate?

The challenge is open for M.Sc. grads and students only, from the fields of Math, Physics or Engineering.

  • Participants must be M.Sc. students or graduates of one of Israel’s top academic institutions: Ben-Gurion University, Tel Aviv University, Technion, Hebrew University, Bar Ilan University or Weizmann Institute of Science, or from leading universities abroad
  • Participants must have coding knowledge in one or more of the following languages: Python, Java, C, C#, C++ or R
  • Participants must not have work experience in the field of Data Science
  • ITC Fellows program students & graduates cannot participate in the challenge

challenge Rules

  • The challenge is individual (no team work)
  • Participants must be physically present in the competition
  • There are no restrictions on which technologies to use in order to solve the challenge

Mentors will be available for the entire duration of the competition to answer all your questions!

Date & Location

The ITC Data Science challenge 2018 will be held at the ITC international campus, located on Shoken 18 st, Tel Aviv. The event will begin at 17:00 and the challenge itself will start at 17:45.

Public transportation options: Buses number 172, 72, 19, 3 or a 15 minutes walk from “Tel Aviv Hagana” train station.
